Expeditions For Cause, EFC, is an initiative of the One Consciousness Society Foundation.
What began as a small effort has developed into a platform for public awareness, citizen participation and action across social, environmental and humanitarian causes.
Through expeditions, campaigns, workshops and volunteer engagement, EFC creates opportunities for people to move beyond awareness and participate directly in causes that affect communities, the environment and society.

The Idea Behind Efc
Turning Concern Into Participation
Many people care about social and environmental issues but may not always know how to contribute meaningfully.
Expeditions For Cause creates a bridge between concern and action.

Through this approach, EFC has supported initiatives involving children, women farmers, environmental responsibility, river cleanliness, public behaviour and humanitarian relief.

How Efc Began
From a Small Beginning to a Wider Awareness Programme
Expeditions For Cause started as a small and humble initiative.
Over time, participation from volunteers and supporters helped the programme grow into a broader mass awareness platform.
For more than nine years, EFC has been associated with campaigns and initiatives addressing subjects including:
Women farmers in remote hill areas

Swachh Ganga

Pankh for underprivileged children

Awareness With A Purpose
Information Matters When It Changes Behaviour
EFC campaigns are designed to make people more aware of the role their own choices can play.
This can mean:
Choosing not to litter
Carrying a reusable cloth bag
Using water more responsibly
Protecting rivers and public spaces
Supporting a child’s learning opportunity
Contributing to a community during an emergency
The subjects are different, but the principle remains consistent.
Awareness should lead to responsible action.

Efc And Pankh
Creating Learning Experiences for Children
Pankh is an initiative by OCS Foundation and EFC dedicated to underprivileged children.
Through outdoor experiential workshops, children are given opportunities to learn through exposure, interaction and practical experience.
The programme has also arranged professional and industry interactions to motivate children and introduce them to different possibilities.
Pankh has reached more than 3,000 students and conducted 50 successful workshops.

Efc And Project Theli
Encouraging People to Move Away From Polythene
Project Theli uses awareness and participation to encourage people to replace polythene bags with reusable cloth bags.
Through the initiative, more than 1 lakh cloth bags have been distributed and more than 5,000 volunteers have pledged to avoid single use polythene bags.
The project demonstrates how a simple behavioural change can become part of a wider environmental effort.

Efc And The Do Not Litter Campaign
Creating Responsibility for Public Spaces
The Do Not Litter campaign encourages people to take responsibility for the waste they generate.
Started in Gurgaon in 2010, the campaign has expanded across more than 40 cities.
Approximately 1 million litter bags and portable dustbins have been distributed through awareness activities.
The message is direct:
Do not throw waste on roads or in public spaces.
Keep it until it can be disposed of responsibly.

Efc At Surajkund
Citizen Awareness at the International Craft Mela
In 2015 and 2016, OCS Foundation and EFC participated in a mass awareness programme at the International Craft Mela at Surajkund.
The initiative brought together:

The campaign focused on the Do Not Litter message and the My City My Pride pledge.
Campaign Highlights
4,000 My City My Pride pledges signed
1 lakh plus people contacted
1 lakh plus litter bags distributed
The activity demonstrated how volunteers, institutions and public authorities can work together around a simple civic responsibility.

Efc And Swachh Ganga
Taking Awareness From Roads to the River
The Swachh Ganga Expedition extended the message of responsible waste behaviour to the River Ganga.
In November 2014, hundreds of volunteers from Delhi, Gurgaon, Devprayag and Rishikesh participated in an awareness and cleaning expedition covering an approximately 80 kilometre stretch between Devprayag and Rishikesh.
The initiative combined cleaning, waste management and public awareness.

Coming Together During Humanitarian Emergencies
EFC has also participated with OCS Foundation in humanitarian activities.
These have included relief and rehabilitation support connected with:

Following the Nepal relief expedition, OCS Foundation and EFC received a letter of appreciation from the Government of Nepal recognising their contribution to relief and rehabilitation work.
