Featured Story

Pankh: Learning Beyond the Classroom

Pankh was started in October 2015 to create learning and exposure opportunities for underprivileged children.

Through outdoor experiential workshops, children are introduced to new environments, subjects and people.

Professional and industry interactions provide another form of exposure, helping children discover careers, experiences and possibilities they may not encounter in their everyday surroundings.

The initiative has conducted 50 workshops, reached more than 3,000 students and arranged over 50 professional and industry interactions.

Pilot Digital Playgrounds and Libraries have also been initiated to improve access to computers, books and learning resources.

Project Theli

From Waste Fabric to Reusable Bags

Project Theli began in December 2015 with the objective of reducing dependence on polythene bags.

More than 1 lakh cloth bags have been distributed and over 5,000 volunteers have pledged to avoid single use polythene bags.

The initiative also encourages the reuse of old clothes, bedsheets, curtains and other suitable fabric for making cloth bags.

Project Half Tap

A Reminder That Can Change a Habit

Project Half Tap asks people to reconsider how much water they actually need each time they open a tap.

More than 10,000 reminder stickers have been distributed and more than 10,000 volunteers have pledged to follow the initiative.

Do Not Litter

Taking a Simple Message Across Cities

The Do Not Litter campaign began in Gurgaon in 2010.

Since then, it has reached more than 40 cities and distributed approximately 1 million litter bags and portable dustbins.

At its core is one simple request:

Keep your waste with you until you can dispose of it responsibly.

Stories from the campaign can document volunteers, city activities, public interaction and the everyday choices that help keep shared spaces cleaner.

A Story From Surajkund

My City My Pride

In 2015 and 2016, OCS Foundation and Expeditions For Cause joined the International Craft Mela at Surajkund for a large public awareness initiative.

The programme brought together Haryana tourism authorities, the mela administration, schools and citizen volunteers around the Do Not Litter message.

During the campaign:

4,000 My City My Pride pledges were signed

1 lakh plus people were contacted

1 lakh plus litter bags were distributed

The initiative demonstrated how civic awareness can become more powerful when authorities, institutions, young people and citizens participate together.

A Story From The Ganga

80 Kilometres of Awareness and Action

In November 2014, hundreds of volunteers from Delhi, Gurgaon, Devprayag and Rishikesh participated in the Swachh Ganga Expedition.

The programme covered an approximately 80 kilometre stretch between Devprayag and Rishikesh.

Volunteers participated in cleaning activities, waste management and awareness efforts at different locations.

The expedition demonstrated the idea at the centre of Expeditions For Cause: experience the issue directly and become part of the response.

During the COVID 19 response, people contributed oxygen concentrators, oximeters, food, medicines and food support for families in need.

Following the Nepal Relief Expedition, OCS Foundation and EFC received a letter of appreciation from the Government of Nepal recognising their contribution to relief and rehabilitation work.

Human Consciousness And Yogic Science

Stories of Study and Inquiry

Not every OCS Foundation story happens in the field.

Through www.patanjaliyogasutra.in, the Human Consciousness and Yogic Science Initiative makes detailed study of the Patanjali Yog Sutra freely accessible.

The platform includes explanations of all 196 Sutras, audio and video discourses by Pujya Swami Videh Dev Ji and searchable resources for study and reflection.
