About OCS Foundation

OCS Foundation works across education, rural livelihoods, environmental responsibility, humanitarian support, and the understanding of human consciousness.

Our initiatives bring together individuals, volunteers, professionals, institutions and communities to create awareness, encourage participation and translate concern into practical action.

ABOUT EFC

Making a Difference Together

OCS Foundation believes that meaningful change becomes stronger when people participate in it.

Our work has developed through direct engagement with communities, volunteers and supporters across a range of social, environmental and humanitarian causes.

These experiences have helped us understand different needs, learn from the people we work with and shape initiatives that combine awareness with practical participation.

From children seeking better learning opportunities and women farmers strengthening their livelihoods to citizens taking responsibility for the environment and communities requiring support during emergencies, our work responds to different needs through a shared commitment to action.

Creating Opportunities for People to Participate in Change

Social challenges are rarely addressed by awareness alone.

People need opportunities to understand an issue, participate in the response and contribute in ways that are practical and relevant to them.

OCS Foundation creates such opportunities through educational programmes, community initiatives, awareness campaigns, expeditions, humanitarian support and open knowledge platforms.

Our purpose is not limited to delivering individual projects. We seek to encourage greater responsibility, participation and consciousness in the way people relate to society, the environment and themselves.

Awareness That Leads to Participation

Our initiatives are developed around a simple approach.

Understand the Need

We engage with communities and the people connected with a particular issue to understand the challenges they face.

Create Awareness

We communicate the issue in a way that helps people understand why it matters and how individual behaviour or collective participation can make a difference.

Encourage Participation

Volunteers, professionals, institutions, organisations and citizens are invited to contribute through their time, knowledge, resources and participation.

Take Practical Action

Depending on the initiative, this may include educational workshops, training, awareness activities, environmental campaigns, resource support or humanitarian relief.

Learn and Improve

Interaction with communities provides insights that help shape future programmes and strengthen the way initiatives are implemented.

Five Areas. One Shared Responsibility.

Our work spans five key areas.

Children and Education

Through the Pankh Initiative, OCS Foundation creates opportunities for underprivileged children to learn beyond the classroom through experiential workshops, educational support and interaction with professionals.

Pilot projects for libraries and Digital Playgrounds have also been initiated to improve access to books, computers and learning resources.

Women and Rural Livelihoods

Through Farm to Prosperity, OCS Foundation works with women farmers in the hills of Uttarakhand.

The initiative focuses on sustainable farming knowledge, access to resources, market linkages and opportunities that can help women strengthen their livelihoods and participation in their communities.

Environment and Citizen Action

Environmental responsibility begins with everyday choices.

Our citizen focused initiatives encourage people to reduce plastic use, conserve water, avoid littering and take greater responsibility for shared spaces and natural resources.

This area includes Project Theli, Project Half Tap, the Swachh Bharat Awareness Campaign, the Surajkund Do Not Litter and My City Pledge initiative, and the Swachh Ganga Expedition.

Humanity First

Humanity First brings people and resources together during emergencies, natural calamities and humanitarian situations.

OCS Foundation and Expeditions For Cause have participated in relief initiatives connected with the Nepal earthquake, Kerala floods, Kedarnath floods and the COVID 19 crisis.

Human Consciousness and Yogic Science

The Human Consciousness and Yogic Science Initiative explores the knowledge contained in the Patanjali Yog Sutra and its relevance to understanding the human system.

OCS Foundation has created www.patanjaliyogasutra.in as a free and open knowledge platform providing explanations of all 196 Sutras, practical insights, audio and video discourses and searchable study resources.

The initiative encourages deeper inquiry into mind, attention, emotion, awareness and human potential.

People Are Part of the Work

OCS Foundation programmes have grown through the participation and support of people who choose to contribute.

Some volunteer their time.

Some share professional knowledge.

Some participate in awareness campaigns.

Some support education and community programmes.

Some contribute resources during humanitarian emergencies.

Others make changes in their own daily behaviour and encourage people around them to do the same.

This spirit of participation is central to the way OCS Foundation works.

From Awareness to Action

Expeditions For Cause, EFC, is an initiative of the One Consciousness Society Foundation.

What began as a small effort developed into a mass awareness programme working across multiple causes.

Over the years, EFC has been associated with initiatives concerning women farmers in remote hill areas, Swachh Bharat, Swachh Ganga, Project Theli, Pankh for underprivileged children and humanitarian activities.

Expeditions and citizen campaigns provide a way for people to move beyond awareness and participate directly in a cause.

Experience Shapes Our Work

Every initiative provides an opportunity to understand more about the people, communities and issues involved.

Through direct interaction, OCS Foundation has gained insights into the practical challenges people face and the forms of support that may be useful.

These experiences continue to guide the development of programmes and awareness campaigns.

We remain committed to listening, learning and improving the way our initiatives respond to the people and causes they are intended to support.

Understanding Our Connection With Each Other

The name One Consciousness reflects a broader understanding that individual wellbeing, society, the environment and human consciousness are connected.

This perspective can be seen across the work of OCS Foundation.

Supporting a child’s opportunity to learn.

Strengthening the livelihood of a woman farmer.

Reducing the use of plastic.

Conserving water.

Keeping public spaces clean.

Helping people during a humanitarian crisis.

Making knowledge of the human system freely accessible.

These may appear to be different causes, but each asks us to become more aware of our relationship with other people, our surroundings and ourselves.

Continuing the Work Through Participation

OCS Foundation continues to develop its initiatives by learning from experience, responding to community needs and creating more opportunities for people to participate.

For women farmers, this includes extending programmes to more remote areas, encouraging sustainable farming, supporting value addition and strengthening collective action.

For children, it includes expanding opportunities for learning and access to educational resources.

Environmental initiatives continue to depend on behavioural change and citizen participation.

The Human Consciousness and Yogic Science Initiative seeks to extend access to knowledge through study, discussion, translation and outreach.

Across every area, the direction remains consistent: enable more people to understand, participate and contribute.
